On Tuesday April 5th I had the pleasure of finally attending the (rescheduled) Me and My Friends Tour featuring Julius, Goody Grace and Gnash, at Club Red in Mesa Arizona. Arriving a little after doors had opened, walking in everyone who wanted one, was handed a white daisy flower that would be used later on in the show. The crowd was mostly underage with a few including myself being of age to drink. You could feel the base throughout your whole body as the room vibrated while we waited for the first performer. At 7 O’clock an unannounced performer named Drew hit the stage to do a 15 minute set with two friends. He defiantly got the crowd excited and ready for the rest of the night. Julius was second to come on stage around 7:20 immediately hooking the crowd of swooning girls with his soulful voice signing Mona Lisa. Later he took a few minutes to interact with the crowd as he played is first ever Arizona show. His set was short but sweet as he covered Work by RiRi feat Drake. Closing his set with his song Disappointed. Following Julius, was Canadian born and highly anticipated Goody Grace taking the stage around 7:45. This was also his very first Arizona show as well. He was also the only artist of the night to play a musical instrument, bring with him an acoustic guitar with his signature little red rose on the top. His opening was the increasingly popular song Memories. Later he played an old school Taylor Swift cover, Back to December, as Goody Grace is a huge Swift fan, using his social media to share his delight with the artist. As he talked a little about himself he was asked by the audience if he knew Justin Bieber. Closing out his short set, he performed his newest song Vanilla Coke that he just recently dropped on his soundcloud. He then walked off stage saying he'd be back.

For the next set, the stage was being set with strings of white lights, along white and red Daisies and some essentials, by Rosa Beales, his tour manager and good friend, the venue was filled with old school jams like, Death Cab for the Cutie (which I was the only one swooning and singing along too), Small things by Blink 182 and Such Great Heights by the Postal Service (which again was left alone as I jammed out). Shorty later Gnash was ready to perform, walking on the stage at 8:10 with a lavender incense opening with Disposable, as a fan at the front of the unbarricaded stage handed him a pretty amazing portrait she had painted. Further into his set he played the song Gemini and during its ending he asked if some of his friends could join him to play a couple songs with him. First to join him Julius and they played their widely popular song Daydream causing the audience swoon as they sang the chorus. Following Julius was

Goody Grace, as promised, and the two performed a medley of their songs: One Song (a personal favorite of mine), a cover of Bright Eyes, First Day of my Life. They then chose to play their song, Fragile for the first time on stage. Of course playing I Hate You I Love You and Feelings (with my favorite lyrics “I like being lonely, but I hate being lonely”.) Ending the night with his friends back on stage they played their new dance anthem Fuck Me Up. The night ended around 9pm being the shortest show I've seen to date. Following the end of the show was a meet and greet for anyone who had purchased $30 or more of merchandise. Here everyone could talk to them, take pictures and get things signed. This was such an incredible night that was long overdue and I highly recommend looking any of these three artists up and give them a listen, you won't regret it. You can find more information on these three artist below.
