Sticky Fingers are There Licking It Up

The tale of Sticky Fingers is as unusual as the sounds that play when you listen to their music. However, this band doesn’t need a likely tale or a likely similar sound. The Aussie natives met long ago on the drunken streets in Newtown, New South Wales, Australia. Dylan Frost (vocals and guitar) struck up conversation with Paddy Fingers (bass and vocals) after a bouncer commanded he “give the bloke some coin, brew!?” After mulling over their similar tastes in past times such as the basis of every friendship, weed and music, they soon recruited their other self-described degenerates, Hollywood (lead guitar), Crabz (keys), and Beaker (drums) to form STIFI.

After their first album, Caress Your Soul, dropped in 2013, they soon found themselves with multiple charting singles, as well as a spot on JJJ Hottest 100. More impressively, they managed to peak at number 17 on ARIA single charts, a high rotation on national Australian radio station, and hit the top 40, before staying in the top 50 for 3 solid weeks. Of course, no debut is golden without a tour.

Selling out every show that was thrown their way, they decided to hop on to a plane and give the “Finger” to Europe. Their European tour began in May of 2013 playing a total of 32 dates in under 40 days, between Holland, France and the UK. From venue shows to live radio performances their first overseas trip went off without a hitch.

When they dropped their sophomore album, Land of Pleasure, their success went even further. Charting at number 3 on the ARIA charts and spending 65 weeks in the Independent Album Charts. During their “Land of Pleasure” tour, they sold out many of the scheduled shows and even managed to sell out the unannounced shows at the Enmore.

STIFI is a shot of bourbon mixed with reggae, pop, and psych that punches you in the face for swaying like a hippy.

The unique creatures that play music are a sight to behold and lucky for the US, they are ready to embark on a sultry, sweat licking, tour this spring.
