In November of 2015, my favorite comedian, Noel Fielding announced he was doing a small U.S. tour, and I immediately got tickets for his last show in Los Angeles, California. This tour is based off his comedy show, The Luxury Show, which plays overseas on British network channel E4. Noel is most notably known for The Mighty Boosh, which played for several years on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim program in the US.
The day finally came, the evening of April 2nd; I was sitting in the Fonda Theatre waiting for Noel Fielding to come on stage. Starting the show off was animation of the good side of the moon he welcomed the comedian onstage.
“Hello You Cheeky Bitches!” this was the first thing you hear from Noel has he entered the stage. He walked on wearing a gold cape, which he promptly, takes off after the crowd settles down. As he takes the cape off, he explains that he no longer needs it for we do not want another Madonna incident. Within the first 5 minutes of the show, Noel spotted a sign from an audience member, which he quickly took as a safe keeping. He thanked the women and asked her how long it took to make the sign, “10 minutes,” she replied, then throughout the rest of the night, he kept throwing out ten minutes like that was all he was worth spending time on. It quickly grew as an inside joke between everyone in the room.

Before fully diving into his act, he was told the audience about how he had a dream once that he was a tea bag. The herbal kind, the ones no one really drinks, not like the English Breakfast. He goes on to explaining, that he did not know what kind of herbal tea he was as he lost his scent. One day he was picked from the cabinet to make a school project of a pirate’s map more authentic. It was then he discovered what happens to tea bags when they are picked, they don’t go to tea heaven, and they are boiled in hot water and milk. Noel took on the responsibility to warn the other bags in the cabinet, so he climbed back up and warned everyone. To avoid being picked, the flavors all opened their bags and mixed their leaves and then Noel woke up. Everyone in the audience could not stop laughing at this bit because that amount of detail that he put into explaining was brilliantly vivid!
The show was exactly like The Luxury Show, characters from Plasticine (play-do) City made appearances throughout the night, there was Joey, David Bowie, a Minotaur, a reverse Minotaur, and Gordon Ramsey. To go more in-depth on Joey’s story of Plasticine City, Noel had a storybook, which he spoke in a Scottish accent. Before beginning, he asked if anyone was from Scotland and discovered a group of three was. He apologized ahead of time for his horrible accent.

Noel told us about how his wife cheated on him with a triangle, which is played by Antonio Banderas. Famous movie character, Zorro, also made an appearance, for he was Noel’s understudy. So if anything happened during the show to Noel, Zorro would take over, for the show must go on! When Zorro was first introduced, a bicker argument started between the two. So in order to end the argument, Hawk Man, who is half hawk and half tennis player, had to come and decided whose argument is correct. After some consideration, Hawk Man decided Noel has the winner.
Before concluding the first half of the show, Noel’s “wife” came to tell him she had a child. Not with him, but with the triangle man. In order to sort everything out, Noel and his wife went backstage thus completing the first half.
Fifteen minutes later, the moon comes back and tells us that the unspeakable has happened! Noel has been kidnapped! Now he warned everyone the police was called and until the get there, the show must go on. With that being said, Zorro came on and started his short act.

New York police officer, Sergeant Raymond Boombox (Noel), came and interviewed around 5-6 audience members before discovering a suspicious member. Chasing the man (Banderas) back on stage, it was then we discovered he was innocent the entire time. Finally the dark moon came back and started commenting. It was not until the police officer started threatening the moon with calling his mom, that the dark side confirmed he knew where Noel was being held. At that point in time, triangle man came out and announced that it was him who kidnapped Noel! He quickly went into the plasticity world to make sure no one would be able to rescue Noel.
To end the show, Fantasy Man (Noel), the Harlequin (Banderas), and an audience member, who name was Dave but went by Steve (mostly so he could be the lucky member to entire the world), went to rescue Noel from the Plasticine World! The ox defeated Harlequin,

then went in Fantasy Man who defeated the Ox but was defeated by the triangle. Lastly, it was the member’s turn. He was quick to defeat the triangle man and rescue Noel!
I am so beyond happy that I had the opportunity to attend this show. The tour ended in Vancouver, Canada on April 9th. So if you did not have the chance to attend, keep an eye out for later events, hopefully he’ll be back within the year. In the meantime, watch The Mighty Boosh, The Luxury Show, or any other videos of his previous comedy shows! To keep up with Noel Fielding check out his twitter at: @noelfielding11
