Music's Biggest Night : 2016 Grammy Award Highlights

Monday February 15th was musics night as the Grammys award some of music's best. Here are the highlights:

1. Ed Sheeran - After being nominated several times, British singer Ed Sheeran walked away for the first time with not one but two Grammy Awards including Song of the Year and Best Solo Pop Performance for the song Thinking Out Loud.
2. Meghan Trainor - The nominees for Best New Artist was a hefty list including James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, and Courtney Barnett, but the All About That Bass singer took home the coveted award.
3. Kendrick Lamar - Rap artist Kendrick Lamar swept away with three awards including Best Rap Album for To Pimp A Butterfly, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for Alright, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for These Walls. Of course he made an appearance in Taylor Swift's video Bad Blood which also took home Best Music Video.
4. Justin Bieber - Although the Biebs didn't take home an award for his new album Purpose, he did get an award with Skrillix and Diplo for Best Dance Recording for the song Where Are U Now. Not to mention he had a killer performance at the show when he played an acoustic version of Love Yourself, then did an electric performance of Where Are U Now.
5. Alabama Shakes - Alt. Rock band Alabama Shakes took home an impressive three awards including Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for Don't Wanna Fight, and Best Alternative Music Album for Sound & Color.
6. Taylor Swift - America’s Sweetheart Taylor Swift made Grammy History by becoming the first female artist to win Album of the Year twice, as well as becoming the first artist to win the Best Album honors in two genre categories. Taylor also took home the awards for Best Music Video and Best Pop Vocal Album.
7. Lady Gaga - Queen of Pop Lady Gaga paid tribute to one of the greatest music legends, David Bowie. Lady Gaga gave a performance to remember the late singer with a nine song accolade.
8. Adele - While her newest album, 25, was not up for any awards this year, Adele gave an emotional performance for her newest single, “All I Ask”. Despite having some technical difficulties during the beginning of the performance, the British singer-songwriter and 10 time Grammy Award winner, continued on flawlessly.
