All Time Low just finished their massive tour with Sleeping with Sirens and Neck Deep, which ended Tuesday the 24th of November at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden. I got the chance to see this tour when it hit the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA earlier that week.

There was palpable excitement in the air, as it got closer to the 6pm door time. As soon as the doors opened, everyone hurried to the front to try and get as close as possible to their favorite bands. A little before 7 pm the first band of the night came out, a pop-punk band by the name of Neck Deep, the band has quickly catapulted to the front of the list of bands the scene is getting to know. They have been one of my favorite bands since hearing “A Part of Me” from the EP Rain In July. Neck Deep consists of Ben Barlow, Fil Thorpe-Evans, Dani Washington and Matt West. Since Lloyd Roberts stepped down from the band before this tour, they also have Sam Bowden touring with them playing guitar. Their stage presence/ energy is electric and you can’t help but move especially with the current set opener “Citizens of the Earth” from their sophomore record Life’s Not Out To Get You. The band, although only having 30 or so minutes, slammed through the set and put on a great show of new and old hits. Their set list included a lot of songs that were on the set list for Warped Tour this past summer such as “Losing Teeth,” “Gold Steps,” “What Did You Expect?” and “Can’t Kick Up The Roots.” Before “Can’t Kick Up The Roots” vocalist Ben Barlow mentioned it being about loving where you’re from and asked if the crowd loved the city where they were from. My favorite off the set list is a new track from Life’s Not Out To Get You called “Serpents.” I knew we were in for a good night with Neck Deep starting out. Make sure to look for their spring tour announcement in the next week as they have big plans!

Following Neck Deep was Sleeping with Sirens. The band consisting of Kellin Quinn, Jack Fowler, Justin Hills, Gabe Barham and Nick Martin. Sleeping with Sirens opened with “Kick Me” from their most recent album Madness. The band continued with the crowd favorites and more new songs that had been debuted on their acoustic tour earlier in the year. Kellin Quinn is someone who talks much during songs unless it has to do with a song or an important point he wants to make. I always think it’s interesting and important when a band realizes the platform they have to discuss issues worth talking about. He talked about how it’s been a dark week internationally and how technology numbs people’s minds to the violence and world going on around them. He went on to say that someone in the crowd could be the next Martin Luther King, Jr., making major changes for peace and working against injustice. After talking, the band went into “Strays” from the new record. The acoustic cover of “Iris” that has found it’s way to being a set staple slowed down the band but didn’t slow the energy from the crowd. Despite this tour being headlined by All Time Low, you could feel the energy in the room from the fans of Sleeping with Sirens as the band fed off of the enthusiasm. This was the 7th time I’ve seen them and it’s always a great set list. The band ended their set with the favorite “If You Can’t Hang” from Let’s Cheers To This. The tour was an incredible one from top to bottom, unfortunate for anyone who missed it.
