Jordan Auge originally began in local Arizona band Never Let This Go as the drummer but that’s not all he’s known for. He is currently lighting designer for bands such as Memphis May Fire and The Maine. Auge is not only creating a name for himself, but he is also creating a dream career that allows him to travel the world.
When asked whether he fell into the field or if it was something he always thought of doing, Auge answered, “I have been into production, sound lighting, etc. for years now and just always thought of doing this as a full time job.”
Auge currently works at LIT Lighting where he credits everything he knows to owner, Chris. Along with what he has learned, Jordan draws inspiration from other lighting designers as a guide to create an amazing light show. Every task has its own challenges, as each venue is different. On top of load in/out, it can be the most difficult part of the job.
Auge explained when asked which artist he would like to work with later on, he responded with only two words, “Justin Bieber.”
As for advice for others wanting to peruse a career in lighting, Auge simply states “read the manuals. It really does help.”
You can currently catch Jordan doing the lighting for Mayday Parade throughout the AP Tour.
