Despite doors not opening until 7 pm, fans started lining up around 2 pm on Tuesday, October 6, in Tucson, Arizona at Club Congress. It was finally opening night of MAX’s Sounds like Gibberish tour.

Officially the night started at 6 for all the VIP fans. On top of going in an hour earlier, they received a Polaroid picture, acoustic session, first in line for merchandise, and first to the stage. Once 7 hit, the line started moving as the rest of the crowd got to go inside the club. Before the tour started, MAX announced that the first fifty fans to purchase a t-shirt or more would receive a ticket for a meet and greet after the concert; so for many fans, getting to the merchandise table was important.

The clock struck 7:30 and the first performer came on. Call Me Karizma got the crowd jumping and screaming, performing his well-known song “Loser”. He even performed new songs “Pictures” and “No Words”. Karizma ended his set with four fans coming onto stage to sing “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” by Fall Out Boy. He definitely accomplished his job of pumping up the crowd.

Next up to the stage was Kenzie Nimmo with her husband Harris Heller. The wife and husband duo brought a softer side to Club Congress, but the crowd never lost the energy from Karizma. Kenzie sang of love, heartbreak, and healing. The crowd, who know the duo, sang along to every song. To mix up their set, the duo mixed together a bunch of popular songs and made a cover of their own. In the mix were songs by artists like The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, and Justin Bieber.

It was now time for MAX and Ryan, his guitarist. They started their set off right by opening with “Puppeteer”. MAX kept the crowd going wild with those high notes and his beloved dancing. Halfway through his set he brought out Karizma to do a remix version of his song, “Ms. Anonymous” (originally featuring Jared Evan). He also brought out Kenzie Nimmo and Harris to sing “Makin’ My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates. By the end of the night, Max sang all of the songs off his newly released EP, Ms. Anonymous. He even performed a few minutes of his song with Hoodie Allen, “Won’t Mind”.

To officially end the concert, MAX performed “Mugshot”, before thanking everyone once again and walking off stage.

It was now time for the meet and greet. Everyone who didn’t have a ticket either left or were still in the process of buying merchandise/meeting Kenzie, Harris, and Karizma. About 10:15, MAX walked out and started meeting his fans. Going down the line of 50 girls, he took pictures, autographed a few items, and had small conversations with everyone.

The Sounds like Gibberish tour continues until November 7th, so if you have yet to purchase your tickets, buy them before the shows sell out!
