Poughkeepsie, NY based pop-punk band Against The Current (abbreviated ATC) have released a new single. Signing to Fueled By Ramen earlier this year, it’s clear this band is aiming high. The release of their new track “Outsiders” makes it evident they are ambitious and wanting to go places, and now they have the label necessary to make it happen. The trio has very positive driven lyrical songs and a dynamic sound that sets them apart from their competition.

For everyone who never felt like they fit in, this song is for you. “We are outsiders but we’re not hiding anymore. This is who we really are.” This song sings about everyone that ever felt lonely being on the outside. It’s about the misfits and rebels of the world and how there is nothing wrong with being different. The lyrics hit deep if you’ve ever felt like this and you instantly agree with the lyrics that lead singer, Chrissy Costanza, belts.

Chrissy has an amazing range and displays it throughout ”Outsiders”. You can tell she’s passionate about what she does and the words she sings. Her passion adds to the intensity of this song. Will Ferri, the drummer of ATC, drives the song in a very rhythmic melody making you want to move around while listening to it. Dan Gow finishes off the trio with amazing guitar riffs that will get stuck in your head. These three musicians are strong and talented individuals who know what they want. This song will move them to a different platform in the music industry and allow ATC to play shows to a larger audience. This song it too relatable for people not to love and it will get stuck in your head after your first listen.

Against The Current have been touring all year and is currently on The Gravity World Tour that begins in the U.S. later this year. It is a headliner supporting their last full release, Gravity EP. As someone who’s seen ATC live before, they’ve got a crazy amount of energy and it’s obvious that they love performing by the looks on their faces. Add lyrics that make you feel like you fit in and belong, and it’s bound to be a great show. I personally am stoked to see this song in particular live and scream the lyrics at the top of my lungs. Check out their website for more details if you want to catch them this winter and keep your eyes peeled for more news on ATC. I have a feeling they’re going BIG places.
